To me the "old" renders look better - Imho
Yea, I agree, there's a distinct style in the old HS that Neo and HS2 just doesn't have. I tried my darnest to get close but I am a coder not a renderer. Neo tends to look like The Sims at times.....
I do believe the QoL and features of Neo will pay off in future renders though, since it allows for things not possible with OG HS (like FK).

Hi, long time no post. Is this resurrection thing still on? No hard feelings if no, just want to know what's going on.

Hello,
sorry for the lack of updates - ironically I have been consistently working on the game the past few weekends, but the more I set up, the more holes I see in the original design; nothing to worry about though - just need to come up with solutions that adhere to the original HFT vision.

I just felt like after failing to meet deadlines I've set for myself, instead of treating this as a project that I publish monthly/bi-monthly updates - I'd just do it on my free time with no time pressure.

Long story short - ressurection project still on-going -

There are still no signs of when to revive?
Sorry it's taking longer than expected -
there's some progress on my end-ish, here's what I've been up to
* Fiddling around with AI to write scripts
* added a shop where you can buy a hidden camera (fulfill the vouyerism tag)
* have a clear outline of progression

Most of the time investment has been trying to figure out how to programmatically generate images.
I'm nogging my head on how to make costuming work without having to manually reprint and set the images again.

Thank you for your interest and patience.

Jeckdex!! Honestly, I'm very happy that you continue working on this project. I have been checking this forum every week eager to hear news, and I was afraid that this game would be abandoned. Nothing more to add, I just wish you encouragement, and I'm not just saying this for this project that you took on as a hobby, but also for your path.

And happy new year to all :)

still alive! Sry for the lack of updates -
the past 2-3 months I worked on trying out other game engines just so we can fix the "costume" problem, but to no avail.
There are currently 3 non coding related things that are taking time
* the balance
* the CG
* the script

Progression and game system are refined, but the other 3 are not my forte.

thank you all for your patience.

Does anyone have the original mac version of this game? Because the mac link to the original game is dead and was interested in playing it.

I haven't ever done so, but I remember somebody saying years ago that it was trivially easy to make a windows version of a ren'py game work on a mac.

"Either replace the game folder inside the mac game with the game folder of the windows version, or download a ren'py sdk, open the windows version with it and build a mac version yourself. Very easy to do (see https://f95zone.to/threads/how-to-create-a-mac-version-of-any-renpy-game.3289/post-3532643). Wine is not worth the hassle for ren'py games."

That quote was the most verbose search result from the first search page. I assume the "replace the game folder inside the mac game with the game folder of the windows version" is only useful for updating an older mac version to a new version. It could be useful to keep in mind for other ren'py games in the future though. The link has a step by step guide with pictures of what to do to compile a mac version of the game from a non mac version.

jeckdex! How is it going? How are you?
still here, still alive, still firing up Ren'Py from time to time.
I started the resurrection effort in 2020, during the Pandemic, and it's a real shame it's taken me this long to take this game to the finish line. (Discovering that the game design actually wasn't scalable at all and we were nowhere close to finish.)

Currently:
* renders still suck, I'll need to redo them, and I need a way to programmatically do them....
* scenes suck, an erotica writer, I am not....
* I got 2 endings outlined, and many more scenes to get from what we have to there
* Gameplay loop is mostly done - but that's been done for a while...

I do appreciate the pulse check here and there. I fully intend to finish this project.
